Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Mom's official hospice diagnosis is end-stage heart failure. We have hope, but know that it is in God's hands now.

On November 5, Nancy went into the ER at Summa because she was having trouble breathing and had been fatigued for a couple weeks. She was concerned about Covid-19, despite her very vigilant 8 months of isolation and careful quarantine throughout this pandemic. Fortunately, her Covid test was negative. Eventually, the cardiologists determined she'd suffered a heart attack sometime in the past few weeks. We were lucky she was smart enough to seek help! On November 7 they performed a heart catherization, which opened a couple blockages and added 2 stents to help her. She has been on oxygen to help with breathing.

On November 10, however, she suffered another attack and coded in her room. Doctors rushed her into another heart cath and gave her a temporary pace maker. Her daughters were able to rush to her in the hospital to see her and spend as much time as possible with her. On November 12 the decision was made to end treatment and enter hospice with her family at her side. Unfortunately, the hospital had to shut down to visitors the following day due to the surging Covid-19 cases. We continue to talk with Mom/Grandma via Facetime and have loved spending as much time as we can together.
