Hello and welcome to our CaringBridge website for Nancy. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.
This journey began Sunday, March 19th with an unanticipated, late-night trip to the emergency room for lack of ability to eat or drink, accompanied by terrible chest pain. Body scan results presented to us at three in the morning indicated cancer affecting Nancy’s pancreas and other organs. We were grateful for early visits by our daughter, Tami, our son, Trent, and his wife Kathy. After a week in the good hands of Mercy Hospital staff and doctors, Nancy was grateful to be released home again.
As of now, we understand the cancer is stage 4, metastasized pancreatic cancer. We have home care visits set up twice a week. We will meet with our oncologist on Monday afternoon to better understand our treatment choices.
In our 21 years as St Charles, Missouri residents, we have accumulated the friendship of some incredible folks. ALL who are willing to come to our aid on a moment’s notice We REALLY treasure short visits, words of encouragement, and the support of family and friends.
