Today March 3rd, I met with my Surgeon for a full explanation of the type of cancer I have, the surgery, follow up and treatment. I have DCIS (Ductal Carcinoma in Situ) which is basically cancer in my milk ducts! It is high grade pre-invasive, and Stage 0! Great news, right! The process is to send several samples to the Pathologist to hopefully not find anything else resulting in another trip back to the OR. If all is well, I will start the radiation treatment everyday for 4-6 weeks.
My surgery is scheduled for March 14th. Anticipation has set in again!
