- Born as Myrna I. Galler in Brooklyn, NY in 1942. 
- Met her sweetheart Alden "Elie" Hammerling at Wingate High School. 
- They got married as they graduated from Brooklyn College, and stayed lifelong sweethearts through Elie's passing in July, 2020.
- Elie and Myrna left the "big city" and moved with their kids (Eric and Jaimie) to Pittsfield in 1976.
- Myrna was a founding partner of Evergreen Realty and worked as a realtor for 18 years.
- She went back to graduate school and achieved a M.S. in Judaic Studies from the Jewish Theological Seminary in 1997.
- Since that time she has worked with Knesset Israel Synagogue directing and delivering adult education programs, and tutoring young learners of Hebrew through April, 2021.
- Throughout her life, Myrna has been devoted to her friends and family with her generous spirit, diligent commitment, and deep intelligence.
