As you know Myrna was diagnosed with lung cancer in July of 2017. With radiation and chemotherapy she won that battle and there has been no return of 
cancer to her lungs. In  March of this year she started to have problems using her right hand. Since then she has continued to lose use of her right arm and leg. Last Thursday, April 19 Myron took her to the ER at Methodist Hospital. After many tests, including an MRI they discovered two lesions in her brain. The largest one was 2.9 cm and is located on the left side of her brain in the  motor area. This is what has caused  her inability to use the right side of her body. There is another very small lesion on the right side of her brain that is not impacting any functioning at this time. There were two options presented, surgery to remove the larger lesion or radiation on both lesions. Myrna has decided to go with the radiation. It will be  stereotactic radio surgery which is specifically targeted on the two lesions and is a high does radiation. The next couple of days will be planning the surgery. This includes creating a mask so that her head does not move during surgery. The small lesion will have one treatment and the larger lesion will have 3 treatments. We are hoping to have the first session on Friday. At this time we don't know how long she will be in the hospital. She is going to need OT and PT to hopefully strengthen her right side.
