Melissa Angell My Lymphoma Journey

Hi. My name is Melissa! And I was just diagnosed with cancer. I have stage 3 Non-Hodgkin lymphoma. I am a 35 year old wife and mother to 4 girls and 2 boys♡! 6 amazing God sent blessings. Every day is about them. For the last 15 years I've devoted my whole life to raising my kids and doing the best I can. For 15 years I put myself last. Including my health. In 2014 I had gone to the er with stomach pains. I was dimissed like usual and for 2 years I went on never knowing what was really wrong. I went back to doctor and he ordered me a petscan. After I came across my medical records online stating I had enlarged lympth nodes on the right side of my pelvis. At that same time I had just found out I was pregnant with my 6th child, Lincoln. Everything was put on hold. I had him Feb. 2nd, 2017. 
I was having so many issues. Feverish fluish. Achey and tired. All the time. ALLLL the time. My primary doctors tried 3times to get me a ct. But my insurance kept denying them. Nov 2017 I found a large lump near my right elbow and 2 days later a large lump in my right armpit. This is what helped lead to my diagnosis. One of these lumps were close enough to my breast...and i was sent for a mammogram!  They found about 5 enlarged lympth nodes on my right armpit and 5 on my left. I was in shock! They had me get a biopsy done. And 5 days later on Jan 15th I found out I had lymphoma!  The C word.... ! Cancer!  I am going to journal my journey and fight this thing with all I have in me! God is WITH me! 


With every appointment comes a price. With every procedure comes a price. A cost that we didn't prepare for.  A cost that we couldn't prepare for.
