Myles a healthy 11 yr old boy had a chainsaw accident a couple of months ago and as awful as that was he managed to only mess up his one finger bad enough to need a surgery to repair the nerve. He had that surgery yesterday and other than being very anxious and afraid of having the little surgery I think it went well as far as they knew then at least. They came home and by evening he was not feeling well so he went to bed but continued to get worse. He was throwing up and continued all through the night. By early morning he was complaining or saying he had very bad pain in his left side and it felt like something was blocking his airway so Sylvan his Dad took him to emergency. They ran test and did x-rays and thought maybe a collapsed lung, or pneumonia. By mid afternoon it was decided to take him back to IWK and there they said he was early stage sepsis. He is now in ICU and is being treated for septic. This is Sylvan and Ginny Toews 3rd child. They are from Annapolis Valley.
