Mykenzie Lee Crowell will be born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. The left side of her heart is much smaller than the right and will not function properly long after birth. About 1 in 4,000 children have HLHS, so it is pretty rare. She will be born at Swedish Hospital, then transfered to Children's in Seattle. She will have open heart surgery within the first week of her life and two more before the age of 4. Please read our journal entries to keep updated and get more details on Mykenzie.
