Murray Nelson Brooks, 78, passed away February 12, 2021 while spending winter in Casa Grande, AZ, away from the colder Colorado he called home. Born in Hamiota, Manitoba, Canada on May 30, 1942 he grew up in the western provinces of Canada. Working in the Oil and Gas Industry for over 40 years he immigrated to the United States in 1974. His immediate surviving family members, wife of 56 years Doris, son Darrin (Jennifer), and daughter Pam (Andy), reside in Colorado. He has called a few places home over the years including Lloydminster, Saskatchewan, Santa Maria, California, and Englewood, Colorado. He leaves behind grandchildren Connor and Cate Logan, brother-in-laws Dennis Husky (Jocelyne), and Blaine Husky (Jamie), and his siblings Ron Brooks (Linda), Kay Schlueter (Klaus), Fay MacDonald (Brian), and Patty Marlatt (Daryl). He was predeced in death by siblings Larry Brooks, Joann Brooks, and Joe Brooks and his parents, Joseph and Florence Brooks.
Murray enjoyed raising horses, fastball, horse shoes, hockey league, RV camping, bike riding and his life’s passion golf. We are planning a memorial to remember him late this summer or fall as it becomes safer for everyone to get together. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that gifts in Murray's memory be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
