Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
On Thursday, Jan 26, Morgan will undergo surgery on her spine to address back pain she has been having for more than a year, to varying degrees. Due to pressure on her spinal cord over time, from a type of fatty deposits typically associated with long-term steroid use among other factors, she is at a critical point of requiring some help to prevent continued movement of the cord away from the normal center of the vertebrae, and to prevent potential for some degree of paralysis in the future.
Tomorrow's surgery will install pins & plates alongside her spine, to essentially create the space needed by her cord, after removal of the fatty deposits causing the pressure. It is hoped but not promised, that this will in time lead to relief from the reason for her current pain, as well as to prevent the problem mentioned.
We will try to update this site during the hospital stay, and perhaps as she gets home for recovery also.
To all seeing this, THANK YOU for your concerns & prayers.   --Lowell & Teresa Ghosey
