Wednesday, November 17, 2021 Monica was on her way to pilates in Fraser, CO when she hit a patch of ice on HWY 40, south of Granby, rolling "Little Red".  The truck rolled twice and landed upside down.  She managed to undo the seatbelt and get herself out.  Daisy, her pup, was with her but was not injured and was running around the field when Joe arrived.   A passing hunter stopped and called 911, along with Joe who responded to the scene.  Monica was transported to Middle Park Medical Center and later to St. Anthony's Hospital in Lakewood, CO.

Monica broke her back at T5 and has other minor injuries.  She is alert, communicative and is able to move all extremities.  Friday, November 19 at 1pm the will under go surgery to have pins and rods inserted from T3 to T7 in order to stabilize the injury.  She is expected to spend 3-4 days in the hospital following surgery with an extensive recovery at home.  Joe, Nicole and her sister, Michelle are with her in St Anthony's.  Visitation is not allowed as the hospital limits one person per 24 hours and we want the family there for her.  We will update this site as we have more information to share.

Once Monica is home, we will set up a Care Calendar where  folks can assist with meals, respite care, house chores, etc.  Stay tuned to CaringBridge.
