Like Jimmy Stewart's character, George Bailey, in "It's a Wonderful Life," her life has been defined by giving and serving others. But now it's her that's in serious trouble and in need of help. The part of Mr. Potter is played by leukemia, and it's attacking her body daily as she works with doctors to beat this disease. As many of you know, the treatment sometimes seems worse than the disease. Not only have the several rounds of chemo wrecked her body, they also take a tremendous emotional toll on her and her loved ones as her compromised immune system requires her to be in constant isolation. And if that weren't enough, the treatments also create a significant financial burden as much of her treatments and expensive chemo meds are not covered by insurance.
In addition to supporting our mother through prayer and moral support, you may also feel compelled to contribute financially. 2020 has been a rough year for many people, and she is no exception.
