Molly Hernandez Molly’s Cancer Warriors

First post: Jun 1, 2021 Latest post: Feb 21, 2024
This page is in support of Molly Hernandez — wife to Cando,  mom to Isabella and Alex, sister, daughter, aunt, niece, friend, coworker and so much more to so many people — who received a positive diagnosis of breast cancer called invasive carcinoma with mixed ductal and lobular features.

In March 2021, Molly went for her annual mammogram. When the report was received by Molly’s physician’s office, an error was made resulting in no additional imaging until 2 months later when she was contacted directly by the head of radiology from St. Joe’s Hospital to come back in immediately because the wrong patient’s imaging report was sent to her doctor’s office. That return trip to the hospital for imaging would begin Molly’s breast cancer journey.

Repeat imaging and ultrasound sent her to a breast surgeon. While there, the surgeon felt an enlarged lymph node. The following week into this journey, and Molly had already completed a biopsy of the 2 visible lumps as well as an abnormality in the lymph node under her arm.

As her journey continues, we’ll provide updates here in the journal regarding her treatment plan, any fundraising that may happen, as well as ways we can all help support Molly along the way.
