Welcome to Mom's CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.  


Last year mom was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) which causes the body's bone marrow to improperly produce cells.  She began chemotherapy treatment in the fall of 2016 at MD Anderson in Houston, Texas.  During this time she was able to back and forth from Birmingham to Houston every 4-5 weeks.   In spite of multitude of ups and downs,  mom, true to form, has been optimistic every step of the way.   However, the disease has not responded to the treatment.  The disease has progressed and a new treatment began on November 14, 2017.   We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.
