On Saturday June 3rd, 2017 my son Mitch was walking to work on the train tracks by our house and suffered a severe brain injury. We are still not sure if he was actually hit or was startled by the train and we may never know. Our journey then began with the first responders from the fire department who took him to U of L hospital where the neuro surgeons performed a life saving surgery. He then went to ICU for 12 days then to a room in PCU where the staff worked continuously to care for Mitch around the clock. We arrived at Frazier rehab on Friday June 16 , less than two weeks from the date of his accident where we are today. He is alive today and at the beginning of his long road to recovery because of all these amazing people who did their job!
