Mitch was diagnosed with lymphoma in late February 2018 during a visit to North Memorial Urgent Care on Highway 7. We’re so thankful for their speedy diagnosis since we were booked on flights to Africa the next day. Instead, we’re navigating a different journey. A tour of Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Africa will have to wait.

From Urgent Care, he was admitted to North Memorial Hospital. More tests revealed he has Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma. His liver, spleen and some lymph glands in his abdomen and chest are impacted by his lymphoma. While it is a more aggressive type of lymphoma, it is very survivable. He will remain in the hospital while they begin his chemo regimen so they can monitor him closely for side effects.

We are using CaringBridge as a way to keep our family, friends and neighbors informed of Mitch's progress through his hospitalization, chemo and any other treatments. Mitch has always been in excellent health prior to the diagnosis. With the excellent medical care he is receiving and with all of the support from so many family members and friends we feel fortunate and optimistic. Although we understand the seriousness of this diagnosis, we feel this is just a little interruption in our lives and soon we will return to the things we love-spending time with family and friends and traveling to exotic places.
