Mitchell was involved in a boating accident at Lake Shetek on Saturday, June 13th. He was transported to the Tracy Hospital by ambulance where he was intubated and flown by helicopter to Sioux Falls. Once Mitchell arrived in Sanford Sioux Falls, they immediately did a CT scan of the head which showed he had a left skull fracture along with left subural hemotoma. Mitchells lungs were also bruised. From there, Mitchell immediately went into surgery. The neurosurgeon was able to remove the hemotoma. Mitchell remains intubated & sedated as they are carefully watching his brain pressures. With brain injuries, every day is critical.
