On Wednesday May 27th, 2009 I went in for a biopsy because a week before I had a mammogram and they had found a hard mass. The results for the biopsy came back on the 28th and I was diagnosed with breast cancer. The diagnosis is an invasive ductal carcinoma, grade II or III, with mucinous differentiation in the left breast. Stage 3A.

I under went a double mastectomy on June 11th, 2009. During the surgery they discovered the cancer had spread to my lymph nodes. They removed 18 lymph nodes and eight of them had cancer.  My treatment plans now is to under go about 4 months of chemo therapy Starting July 9th, 2009 and then a round of radiation. After that is complete and I have had some time to rest and re-coup they will finish the breast reconstructive surgery.

On June 4th, 2015 I had an MRI come back showing cancer cells. After more tests we had found out that this was Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer and it is chronic. This cancer will never go away but I will be undergoing treatments to maintain a good quality of life. At this point chemo and radiation will not help. I will be taking 2 pills daily and having an IV treatment of Zometa once a month to keep my bones healthy. Before I start this I will be having my ovaries removed because my cancer is an Estrogen fed cancer. This treatment plan has been very effective for others, and I have a very positive outlook!
