Miss Momma Kat Skezas-Hooks Miss Kat

First post: Dec 2, 2016 Latest post: May 11, 2017
On April 10, 2017, Miss Momma Kat had a stroke. The doctors report the clot cannot be removed and there is significant brain death near the stroke area. She does not have use of her left side. Only time will tell if the therapy will help her regain any function on her left side.

She spent a couple of weeks in the hospital and is now settled into her new home at Avalon Care Center, address. She can have visitors regularly. Visitors really help her spirits and increase her motivations in therapy.  She loves to receive gifts, but not cut flowers. She finds them depressing.

The stroke is only the most recent significant health event for our Miss Kat. She was diagnosed with COPD and high blood pressure in November 2016. The event that led to that diagnoses included a medically induced coma and many weeks of recovery.

Miss Kat is at Avalon Care Center in Federal Way, 135 South 336th St, Federal Way, 98006, 253.835.7453.  Their website is here: https://www.avalonhealthcare.com/federalway/
