Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

I have a diagnosis of malignant melanoma with several brain metastasis and a short time to live. This is a very big surprise because I had melanoma on my back in 2010 and it was excised by a dermatologist in my network (Swedish). Neither that Doc nor any others who I saw later mentioned the possibility of anything being left, so having a reoccurance now at a late stage 4-- - 7 years later is unexpected.

I have lived a very good life-- as a child internationally, a young person in NYC, an adventurer, homesteader in VA, veterinarian in AZ, WA and BC, and a social justice peacewalking advocate in Seattle,. I have loved life and become a loner in my last years.

I  recovered from my Feb 1 surgery, and have declined treatment with radiation and chemo so far.  I have been told not to drive, so my friend Elaine has been driving me to appointments with Doctors and my new lawyer- Jeremy Yates.  She also has fed me and called twice a day. Good friend.

My team includes Mary Gleysteen, Rosy Betz-zal and Dvorah Kost. They have stayed here with me overnight this month.

I have a list and have done  things every day-- telling my tenants to find another place to live (they move next week!), meeting with Doctors, palliative care, and getting my papers in order to turn over to Jeremy.

I would like to sell my house and move to a place without a yard with lots of good light.
