An amazing chef, small business owner, chief of staff to a University President and two corporate executives, a school bus driver for Binder Bus Service, professional model, beautician, computer programmer, volunteer, world traveler, drum majorette, musician, loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and devoted friend. Millie Flies has run an amazing 75-year race and she can now see the finish line. In addition to all she has accomplished, perhaps Millie's greatest legacy is the bravery, fortitude, compassion, gratitude, tenacity, love, and self-confidence she has shown these past 16 months facing stage four breast cancer. Even as she transitions toward palliative care, Millie continues to be an incredible role model for all of us, with her dignity, positive demeanor, and grace.
As Millie now enters the final turn in her amazing journey, we warmly invite her friends, family and admirers to cheer her on, to celebrate, reminisce and pray with her, and to applaud her for a race well run. Well run, indeed.
