At the end of April, 2017, Mila was diagnosed with Stage 4 Renal Clear Cell Carcinoma. The first week of May, she had her left kidney removed along with a large "football sized" tumor.
The next couple weeks of recovery proved to be a challenge as an unknown back pain continued to escalate. On May 30th, Mila went to the ER seeking relief from the debilitating pain. Two metastasized places on her spine suffered compression fractures resulting in bone pushing into the spinal cord.
With the pain identified, Mila began another chapter of this journey to overcome the pain with spinal surgery. The surgery appears to be successful at reducing the nerve pain.
On June 7th, Mila was discharged from the hospital to inpatient rehabilitation at HealthSouth in Tyler.
On June 20th, Mila was discharged from Rehabilitation to begin cancer treatments. Currently, Mila is undergoing testing and treatment at MD Anderson in Houston.
Mila and her family's prayer request is that God provides a quick halt to the spread of the remaining cancer cells in her body.
Mila and her family covet your prayers during this season. Our God is faithful in all things and we are confident He will sustain and provide in ways we can't begin to imagine.
Your care and concern mean the world to Mila! Thank you!!
