Mike Weaver

Welcome to our CaringBridge website.  We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.  We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.


Mike has been married to Sharon, his high school sweetheart for 47 years.  He is the father of two - Chris, who lives in California, and Megan, who lives in Salina, Kansas.  He is grandfather to ten grandchildren, who he adores.

Mike owned a successful electrical company for years.  He is now a subject matter expert for the International Code Council and teaches various electrical topics throughout the Midwest.

A couple of weeks ago Mike started having pain in his groin.  He assumed he had pulled a muscle, but it continued to get worse, to the point of having to use a cane, and even a wheelchair. 

Mike went Urgent Care, and Dr. Chelsea Burnett sent him for a CT scan.  The scan revealed that Mike has stage four pancreatic cancer, bone cancer, and liver cancer.

Mike met with an oncologist, Dr. Sandoo, who told Mike 'we are going to kill this thing'.  He ordered additional scans, and a liver biopsy.  Mike will get the results of all of these tests on 10/31, and then hopefully we will have a plan.

Mike also has a 5 day appointment at M.D. Anderson beginning on 11/19.
