Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

On Sunday afternoon, after a great morning of Church with family
and watching the Vikings, Mike went to help the neighborhood guys put stakes in along the road for the snowplows.
He was seated on the back of the truck bed with the gate down.  Evidently the truck jerked forward and
he fell off, hitting his head.  It was a fluke, he was just a few feet off of the ground.   He was unconscious at the scene.
The ambulance was called and neighbors were quickly at the scene and did everything they could to help.

He was brought to Regions Hospital where he underwent
testing and immediate surgery to relieve the pressure on his brain caused by fractures to his skull.  The surgery went well and he was moved to the Surgical ICU.  He sustained an orbital fracture and has quite the shiner, luckily no other broken bones.

Mike was put into a drug induced coma so that his brain is able to rest and recover.

We are all in a state of shock at how quickly our lives have been thrown into this nightmare.
We appreciate all of the love and support that we have received over the past few days. Know that we read the texts and emails and listen to your
messages even if we are unable to respond.

We know that we have a long road ahead but we can’t wait to hear Mike crack a joke, call us kooks and give us his big grin.

Mike is currently in the surgical ICU so he is unable to accept flowers or balloons.  Prayers and
good wishes are always welcome.  We now that he is one tough guy and we believe he will get through this.
