Welcome to our Caring Bridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement during this time when it matters most.  I was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of bladder cancer on 19 January 2016 and my Urologist in Port Angeles referred me to Dr Jonathan Wright (head of the Urology Dept at the U.W. Medical Center in Seattle).  Dr. Wright assembled a panel of specialists to consider my situation and determine a course of action.  He recommended a vigorous course of chemotherapy followed by radical cystectomy surgery (bladder removal).  Robotic surgery was scheduled for Wednesday 1 June and I commenced chemo on 10 February 2016 with an infusion every two weeks.  Chemo was completed on 22 March 2016.  Shirley and I appreciate your concern and are most thankful for your prayers and encouragement.  We are trusting that our Lord...who holds our very existences in the palm of His hand...has a plan for our lives and is in complete control.  We pray that whatever He has in mind, He will be glorified. Please note that monetary donations made on this website DO NOT benefit the Stenger family.  We are blessed with excellent medical coverage and are not in need of financial assistance.  Finally, we would appreciate it if you would restrict communications while I am in the hospital to notes to CaringBridge via this website.  After we are back home (about a week after surgery), we will be thrilled to hear from anyone who wishes to call or visit.
