My Dad had surgery on January 23rd for the second time on his back in about nine months.   I flew up from North Carolina to look after him post surgery.   I decided to leave a week later as he was progressing very well.   The week after I left my Dad was complaining he did not have much appetite, but that was something not uncommon as he was still taking pain medicine.

My sister Kirsti talked to him on Friday February 3rd around 9:30pm.   Several family and friends tried calling on Saturday afternoon, but we were not getting any answer so my Dad's friend Dwayne went to check on him and found my Dad unconscious on the bathroom floor.  Really a true blessing that Dwayne found him as he was very close to passing based on the condition he was in.

My Dad was rushed to Markham Stouvfille Hospital  where we found and he had developed staph aerous and had become septic in his bloodstream and in very critical condition.
