Welcome to Mike's Page. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place and to coordinate support for Mike throughout this next chapter in his life. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting. 

Background

Mike has been in pain and had a dry cough for a number of months but it all seemed reasonable and easy to explain.  Shoulder and arm pain - probably a soft tissue injury.  Dry cough - probably from all the drywall dust at work - others have the same problem.  

He underwent a number of tests and they found a mass on his lung and lesions on his bones in the arm, shoulder and spine.  A lesion was also discovered on his liver.  His lung was biopsied and came back positive for "poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma".  

Mike has been surrounded by love ever since entered the hospital.  It has strengthened relationships - that is the gift in this.  His house has been prepared for him by friends and loved ones, fridge stocked with food, community members organizing meals.  It is overwhelmingly awesome and we so appreciate everyone's support.
