Michael Sanderson Mike's AdCC Fight

First post: Sep 9, 2016
Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Mike Sanderson has recently learned he has Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma.  It is a rare cancer and his case requires he be seen by a specialist.  He has been referred to MD Anderson and his specialist and treatments will be 8 hours away.  He will be needing to stay in the local area for weeks or more at a time. His first week will be the last week of August.
This has been a shock to say the least, but, the financial implications are disheartening, and frustrating at best.

Who is Mike Sanderson and why should you help?

He is currently a trainmaster with Watco Industries LLC, and has worked there for 10 yrs. He's always been dependable, organized, thoughtful, hard-working, of strong mind and body, and is someone that will always have your back.

He is an Army Veteran who served in the 82nd Airborne 4/325 paratrooper division, who went on to work with Dentac, and then was attached to a Special Forces unit as a medic while deployed several times overseas to Iraq and Afghanistan. He was in the Army for 12 yrs and he has fought for his country, and his brothers in arms, with sacrifices only a few understand. You may ask, Why is he not going to the VA?  If a single Vet makes more than 30,000 a year they are not eligible for benefits.  To file a claim with the VA for symptoms that are eligible takes time, possibly even months before a claim is reviewed and, complete.  Time is of the essence. He needs help now, not months from now.

Even through all the things he has seen and been through he continues to be the most caring, dependable, and giving person I know.  He has given so much to us, I would truly be grateful if we could show this amazing veteran, friend, son, stepfather, and brother, how much he can depend on us in his time of need.  He fought for us, please help us fight for him, and with him, in this horrible battle against Cancer.

Words could never truly express how grateful your help is appreciated.  May God bless you and keep you, and us all in our daily struggles no matter how big or small, and again from the bottom of our hearts,
THANK YOU!!!
