On May 1st, 2018, Mike was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Since then, he's undergone a bile duct stent which instantly improved his symptoms, and then was given the option to start a course of chemo treatment. He had 6 chemo treatments and felt pretty good for most of the summer, enjoying his favourite activities like motorcycling, sailing and of course playing music as often as possible. He has continued to work at his job that he loves.

In mid-August, a CT-Scan determined that the tumor had doubled in size so additional chemo would be ineffective.

While he remains hopeful that his alternative treatments will begin to take effect soon, unfortunately his health has declined in the past month. The tumor has now blocked part of his stomach which causes great discomfort and nausea, and as of October 15th he hasn't been able to eat or drink anything.

On October 20th we took him to emergency at Juravinski hospital, and he was quickly admitted and is awaiting a Duodenum bypass surgery which will enable him to eat and drink again.

In order for all our loving and caring family & friends to stay updated on Mike's progress, we've created this site to keep you all in the loop. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.
