Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Some family and friends out there have been asking exactly what the diagnosis was, so just a short note to fill everyone in from beginning. Was having intermittent swallowing issues starting around mid summer, knew something was wrong but elected to wait til scheduled routine physical in early Aug to address this issue. While waiting for physical, I lost 15 lbs without realizing it, chalked it up to living and eating out of camper for my job. Lesson learned, don't ever wait to see your doctor if you think something is wrong, sure wish I had that weight back for this treatment. Anyway, was diagnosed with esophageal cancer (the lower 1/3rd). T3-N2-0, I think is how they put it. So it's stage 3, in 2 local lymph nodes and hasn't spread beyond local area. I haven't asked doctors' prognosis because my prognosis trumps theirs, which is that my Lord and I will beat this and I'll return to good health soon. Just a little bump in the road, people! Thank you all for caring and comments are appreciated. Love all.
