on Sunday, 2/28/2016, we learned  our dear, precious, childlike brother Mike has a terminal brain tumor.  He's been falling and we'd noticed he's been losing a little of his 'spark' the past few weeks.  Saturday he couldn't walk at all which is what lead to the ambulance and tests. The tumor is very large, 6 cm. and there is a lot of edema. Our sweet 'Big Mike' will depart this world within weeks, at most a couple of months. Mike is 62, the oldest of nine. He's been mentally handicapped since birth, but in some ways he is smarter than any of us. Anyone who knows Mike will attest he is everything that is good and loving.  He loves everyone unconditionally. All  who meet him fall in love with his beautiful smile, joyful spirit and quick wit. It's  amazing how many lives this simple man has touched.  And oh, how he loves Our Lord.  I have no doubt he will soon see Jesus' beautiful face.  But as we will celebrate his joyful homecoming, this world will soon lose one of its most precious jewels. Please keep Mike and our family in your prayers during what we have been told will be a difficult road ahead. We his sisters and brothers are devastated.At this point, Mike really enjoys visitors and cards.
