On October 8, 2021, our brother, Mike (Michael) Hudson went into surgery to repair a lower lumbar injury. The next day he had an incident that resulted in complications leading to pneumonia and was subsequently placed on a ventilator. He does NOT have Covid, and he HAS been vaccinated. He has been under heavy sedation since then, and he has been on powerful antibiotics from the beginning. Chest X-rays show marginal improvement, but that is forward progress, and we will take it!
His progress has been, and will continue to be, a very slow (and long) one, as he has not been able to tolerate breathing on his own, and any lowering of sedation causes him to become agitated. There are several criteria that he must meet in order for them to begin to wean him from the ventilator, but he’s not quite there yet.
Our family’s hope in creating this site is for his friends and family members to reach out to him with their love, thoughts, prayers, support, and memories, so that when he is able to, he can look back on this and see how much he is loved and cared for.
We thank you all so much for your support and best wishes this past week, and we appreciate your prayers and friendship more than you can know. Please feel free to send him messages of hope and encouragement, favorite memories, pictures, rock bands and animal videos, etc. (he has a LOT of interests!), thoughts, and prayers. I want him to have a TON OF STUFF to read when he wakes up and can rejoin us as he heals. 🙏🏻
