Mike had a cardiac arrest on the morning of Saturday June 12th.  Mike was playing golf with his friends at Greensboro Country Club in Greensboro, NC.


After Mike’s  first shot one of his playing partners Kevin Green began performing CPR around the 1st minute of the episode and John Kirkman was able to relieve Kevin and also began CPR as well. Dr. Peter Van Trigt a Cardiac and Thoracic Surgeon was on the scene within the 1st 5 minutes and took over the CPR.


The local paramedics arrived on scene at the 12-15 minute mark and their team of 6 began working  together with Dr Trigt.  Over about 40 minutes that team was able to stabilize Mike and transport him to Moses Cone Hospital.


When he arrived at the hospital he received a CT scan of his brain which showed no signs of a stroke.  He also received a heart catheterization  procedure that showed no blockage.


His doctors then began the body cooling procedure.
