Welcome to our CaringBridge website where we will update family and friends on Mike's health journey in one place.  In January 2017 Mike was diagnosed with bone cancer (stage 3 IGA myeloma).  Many bumps in the road later, a few bouts in the hospital, and after months of chemo and steroid therapy he was finally told that his bone marrow showed no more signs of cancer in October of 2017.   After getting a professional opinion from MD Anderson, we have decided to move forward with a stem cell transplant as he is a high risk candidate of the cancer coming back fast and furious without the transplant. We are hopeful that this combined with maintenance treatments in the future will be the best solution to keep the cancer from returning.  The treatment will begin 1/15 - TBD (approximately 10 weeks) at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.  We appreciate your prayers, support, and words of hope and encouragement.
