Mike has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer and is, currently, in a medical facility, in Austin, Texas, receiving treatment. Mike underwent intensive cancer removal surgery, on Friday, June 3rd, to remove the largest cancer mass as well as several lymph nodes that contained cancer cells. This part of the surgery was a success but Janet and Mike will not know recovery/cancer treatment options until this Wednesday, June 8th, when the results of the biopsy are reviewed with them. Last night the doctors removed Mike's tube, they removed the incision dressing, and they got him up walking (with support). Currently, Mike's blood pressure and temperature are stable.
Mike and Janet want to thank everyone for their prayers and their support during this difficult time. Updates will be provided, frequently, via this Web site, so that Mike and Janet can focus on each other, at this time, and make plans for Mike's recovery period and future cancer treatment/recovery options.
