Our dad wasn't feeling well so he asked Colton and Michele to take him to the emergency room in Osage, IA on June 5th. After he walked into the ER and was admitted, they were getting ready to take him to CT when he had 2 seizures. The CT wasn't completed and they ended up transporting him by helicopter to Rochester, MN. Once he arrived at St. Mary's they had problems getting a secure airway so they ended up doing a surgical airway. CT scan came back with no signs of bleeding so they ruled out stroke at that point. The team then began running tests to determine the cause of the seizures. After multiple tests, the MRI concluded it was a rare type of stroke with unusual symptoms. On June 7th, the team did a test on his heart and determined there is a clot in a valve which caused the stroke.
