Janet and I desire to use this blog to chronicle the journey that has just begun for both us. Cancer is not just a journey for the patient but for the caregiver as well. We will certainly keep you up-to-date on my condition. In addition, we intend to share our victories, our struggles, our failures and important lessons we expect to learn from God along the way. In other words, we want this to be an open and honest journal of what it is like living with cancer day-by-day.
Our prayer is that God will be our daily source of strength and through our total dependence on Him that He will teach us the true meaning of the following scripture.
"Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." James 1:2-4
It is impossible for our human nature to receive a cancer diagnosis and "consider it pure joy"; however, it is our desire to persevere through faith and allow God to make us "mature and complete, not lacking anything." We know if we continue to abide in Christ, He will be the source of our strength day-by-day. Then one day I pray the power of the Holy Spirit will enable us to look back and consider a cancer diagnosis "pure joy".

We believe that through this trial God desires to draw us into an even deeper and more personal relationship with Him. We believe He desires the same for you. Our hope and prayer is that we will all be blessed by daily choosing to say "NO TO FEAR" and "YES TO FAITH" in God. The choice is actually pretty easy when you think about it. Janet and I are choosing to claim the peace and joy that only God can provide.
