As some of you know I was diagnosed with "triple negative breast cancer" on Monday. In my quest at attempting to share a tremendous amount of information to family and friends it was recommended that I start a shared journal as an optimal communication tool. Great idea!! Love my friends! My son's would be proud of me for figuring this page out without multiple panic phone calls :) Thank you "caringbridge" for making this so easy!
I'm about to partake in a journey, which, I know, will test my "character" as its never been challenged before. Surgery, chemo and radiation are in my immediate future. The good news is this is a CURABLE cancer - its the journey there which will be challenging...... and I've never been one to walk away from a challenge...... Bring it on cancer ...... you have no clue who you are dealing with or the team of supporters behind me or the size of my boys!!! Don't mess with me!
As of today this is what I know :
1) Heading to Lake Tahoe for some " pre-op" skiing, love, laughter & massages with brother David & friend 2) Headed to Billings MT. for even more love, laughter and exploring with sister Susie 3) Surgery scheduled for 2/6... out patient - will have both my boys to take care of me :) What more could I ask for?!? 4) Chemo to start sometime in the beginning of March 5) Radiation soon thereafter
Thoughts and prayers are always welcome :) Phone calls/texts as well - just don't be offended if I don't respond right away
