Thanks for visiting Mighty Maxine's website. We will use this to share updates on how she's doing.
Maxine was born at Swedish at 12:30 pm on 09/30. She was 7 lbs 3 oz. We were able to love on her for 6 beautiful minutes but she stopped breathing and was whisked away. She was resuscitated and put on a breathing machine but her oxygen levels continued to drop.
Maxine had to be transferred to Children's Hospital to be put on an ECMO machine which basically breathes and oxygenates her blood for her. This stabilized her but it's only a temporary life support so they have to find the cause for why she cannot breathe on her own.
She is currently stable and today will undergo surgery to biopsy her lung and begin to see what is going on.
Her whole immediate family is here rooting for her.
