I'll keep it brief here and just say that I will have surgery on February 2, 2017 to correct some problems in my right foot and both ankles. Details of the procedures are in the first journal entry. For at least the first two weeks I will have a "boot" on both feet. Fortunately I will be able to bear weight on my left foot almost immediately, but will not be able to do so on the right for 2-3 months. Because my right foot will be in a boot, I will also be unable to drive during that time. With two young kids, one not yet in school, challenges are expected!

I have set up this page because many people have indicated they would like to help, and I am using this as an opportunity practice asking for and accepting assistance from others. I'd much rather be on the giving end! Thanks to all in advance for helping me and my family through this rough patch. I hope this leads to my spending some quality time with  many of you when you drop of meals or drive me to an appointment.
