In November 2017 I was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. Two tumors were detected in my left breast and with early detection, considered to be at Stage I. A host of additional testing was conducted over the next few weeks following the initial diagnosis to resolve a suspicious spot on the right breast. No additional cancer was detected but results from these tests and information received in genetic testing determined that the best course of treatment moving forward would be to have a double mastectomy scheduled on January 15, 2018. Further treatment if any will be determined following surgery and biopsy results. I am confident with my team of doctors and with their help I will soon be cancer free and living a good life.
