Michelle has been diagnosed with stage three colon cancer. Despite having no symptoms, her routine colonoscopy discovered a cancerous polyp, which prompted colon resection surgery on September 21. Lab reports showed 2 lymph nodes were infected, so once she heals up from the surgery (probably late October), she will begin a 24 week 12 cycle chemotherapy regimen. Doctors are confident she can be cured, but it will be a grind to get to that point. Until then, she will be healing up from the surgery & mentally preparing for the challenges ahead. She would love to hear positive messages from you, as the down time allows the mind to wander. We will be updating this site with her condition, observations, thoughts, etc. And look forward to a special feature called "Through Russ's Eyes", which will provide a unique perspective on the whole process by Russ, her husband of 31 years.
