Friends & family, welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep everyone updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope & encouragement. On the evening of July 17th, Michael was surfing on Lake Michigan when he sustained a brain trauma. He was transported to Lakeland that evening and underwent neurosurgery. He has been in a medically induced coma since that time to promote the healing of the brain. He has been receiving excellent care at the Lakeland Critical Care Unit. The family is unbelievably grateful for the outpouring of support and prayers they have received. **Please be aware that the CaringBridge website is a convenient way for the family to provide information to those who are interested in regular updates about Michael's condition in one place so we don't miss someone; however, the site automatically gives you options for "Go-FundMe" pages, etc. The von Dorpowski's would like to make it clear that they do not wish to seek out donations and are strictly using this site for communication purposes.
