Early July I began to have vague intermittent abdominal pain. By the end of July it hadn't changed. I then weighed myself and had lost 15 pounds without trying. I went to my pcp got labs drawn and a CT of the abdomen. I have a visitor in my pancreas. Fast and furious work up revealed Adenocarcinoma of the distal pancreas stage 1 B. Yeah, That cancer. I underwent en bloc distal pancreatectomy and splenectomy. Dr Rouch thankfully (who thankfully has avoided IU Health purge of great talent from Methodist) feels 99% confident it is gone. I am facing 6 months of chemo.
