I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in May, 2017.  I had the TRUS biopsy procedure performed after my PSA went from 4 to 6 in one year. Pathology results indicated Adenocarcinoma present in all 12 cores taken during biopsy, with most cores a 3,4, giving an overall Gleason grade 7.   Bone scan indicated no evidence of bone metastases so far.   After consultation with two Urologists, I elected to undergo radical prostatectomy with the nerve sparing procedure using the Da Vinci robot and performed by Bruce Lowe, MD.  Dr. Lowe has performed over 2,500 of these robotically assisted procedures and has incredible statistics on his success in getting patients through this procedure with minimal side effects.
