Mike was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure eight years ago but with sodium restrictions and medication has been able to maintain pretty well. Two years ago the condition began to worsen and pulmonary artery hypertension made life, as Mike so enthusiastically lived was becoming impossible.

After a year of lengthy hospitalizations, many procedures and medication therapy, the decision to have an LVAD heart pump was prayerfully made. His surgery was done Friday, May 26th at the University of Minnesota Medical Center. He is doing well and we are so very grateful to the many doctors and cardiac care team members and thankful for God's grace and faithfulness through all of this.

Mike's recovery will be intense and lengthy, but we hope each day will bring added strength and endurance so he can return in time to the family who love and are constantly amazed by him and his incredible spirit  --  and eventually back to the golf course!
