I was diagnosed with ALS on July 22, 2015. As I near the first anniversary of my diagnosis, I have decided to open a CaringBridge website, a remarkable communication tool for patients, families, and friends well known to me given my professional clinical social work career in Boston healthcare. I am the lucky wife of David, a retired Unitarian-Universalist minister and I am the proud and loving Mom of Ben, program coordinator  and research associate for the Africa Program at CSIS, a think tank in Washington, DC. I am blessed with an extraordinary range of dear friends and colleagues that I have come to know over a very rich lifetime. "My small, but important family" (as David says) is a source of strength and support. Welcome, Love and Courage! (June, 2016)
