Welcome!  We have created this website to keep friends and family up to date on Mike's recovery from his double lung transplant.

Mike has had many health struggles throughout his adult life, culminating in a diagnosis of sarcoidosis of the lungs approximately ten years ago.  Sarcoidosis is an inflammatory disease that can affect many different organs of the body.  In Mike's case, the disease has only attacked his lungs.  His lung function has deteriorated to less than 30% forcing him to be on oxygen 24/7.  Due to this decreased lung function putting excess strain on Mike's heart, the doctors recommended a lung transplant.  After months of testing, paperwork and red tape Mike was finally approved for the lung transplant and added to the list in early November 2016.
