Welcome to Michael's CaringBridge website. It is specifically for Michael, his wife, Laura, and daughter, Venice.

My name is Madeline Davis, Mike's youngest sister. I began this website as a way to keep Mike's family and friends updated, to take some of the financial strain off of Michael and Laura and allow for encouraging messages and well wishes to reach Mike and his family. Michael and Laura want to keep everyone updated and involved, but, as you can imagine, that alone can be a full-time job. Please utilize this website to read updates about the Cherrito family, donate financially and see what you can do to help their little family.

In 2014, Michael began to have severe headaches. They became so unbearable that Michael had to go to the hospital and in November of 2014, the doctors discovered a tumor in Michael's brain. In December of that same year, Michael had surgery to remove the tumor and was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme - Stage 4 Brain Cancer.
He began traditional treatment, Temodar chemotherapy and radiation. After a year of chemotherapy and 9 months without recurrence, the tumor returned January of this year. As a family, they decided to try treatments outside of chemotherapy. Mike traveled to California for 3 months of cannabis oil treatments, which were unsuccessful. On May 1st, 2017, Mike had his second brain surgery. The surgeons were able to remove about 90% of his brain tumor. After this, Mike began to change his diet, exercise more often, regularly take vitamins and supplements and visit the chiropractor. At the beginning of August, 2017, Mike became disorientated and his symptoms worsened. Laura took him to the ER, where they discovered the tumor had grown and was moving to a different location. This, unfortunately, made the tumor inoperable. Michael has begun a different chemotherapy, called Avastin and steroids to help with the swelling. He is regularly seeing an Acupuncturist and taking an ancient Chinese herbal blend, to help with the pain and healing.
