Michael Cencich

First post: Jun 14, 2020
Welcome to our CaringBridge site for Michael Cencich.  We've created it to keep friends and family updated.   On June 5th Michael was found unresponsive.  He was breathing but very slow and his blood sugar was very low.  He was in a diabetic coma.  He was flown to Miller Dwan and was in the ICU there.  Once he was medically stable they moved him to St. Mary's Neurology ICU.  He was there until July 1, when he was sent to a rehab center in Superior.  He apparently wasn't ready to be released yet and ended up in the ER at St. Mary's on July 4.  He had a temp of 106, he aspirated and had infection all through his body.  On July 28, he was sent to Red Wing Medical Center.  This is a facility  for traumatic brain injury recovery.  He does have injury to his brain we just don't know the extent of it yet, and may not know for quite some time.  This is going to be a long recovery,  he is slowly improving, but he is steadily improving.  He is quite a fighter, we are very fortunate he is even alive.  He was very sick and has been through a lot.  We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement during this time when it matters most.  Thank you!  Michael's family.
